MPUSD and Freedom Soul Media Education Initiatives (FSMEI) are launching a program to improve access to culturally-relevant learning opportunities for students.
The Building Leaders and Activists with Collective Knowledge (BLACK) Program was first published in 2019 by author, poet and philosopher Tyson Amir. The program focuses on Black History and ethnic studies.
High School students within the district will have the chance to sign up for the curriculum.
The community-at-large is also invited to learn about the program Wednesday, November 17 at 6 p.m. inside the Seaside High School Makerspace. Childcare and snacks will be provided.
