In October 2024, the Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® (BSBF) Mobile Van Unit (MVU) Team will visiting six MPUSD Schools - Crumpton Elementary, Dual Language Academy of the Monterey Peninsula, La Mesa School, Marshall Elementary, Monte Vista TK-8, and Olson Elementary.
The visits will take place as follows:

At this visit, the BSBF team will provide free dental health and well-being education, conduct visual dental screenings, and teach your child how to take care of their bright smile. Your child will be checked by a dental professional and will receive a new toothbrush, toothpaste sample, brushing chart, and list of offices for dental care if needed. This non-invasive dental screening does not replace a regular dental visit.
The MDU maintains important safety procedures which include: The BSBF team wears proper protective gear, including a mask, gloves, and gown. All volunteers, workers, and students wear a mask before entering the screening area on the mobile unit. The mobile unit is wiped down with disinfectant between students/class and cleaned completely with disinfectant at night.
ACTION NEEDED: In order for your child to participate and visit the Colgate mobile dental unit, please sign and return the attached consent form to your child's teacher or nurse by no later than October 18, 2024. Please check YES on all boxes of the consent to make sure your child receives all the benefits of the dental screening.
