At the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District (MPUSD), we are committed to providing students with opportunities that inspire curiosity, creativity, and innovation through STEM/STEAM education. Across our schools, classrooms are buzzing with hands-on activities designed to spark interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. From problem-solving exercises to critical thinking challenges, students are immersed in projects that foster a love for learning and prepare them for the future.
MPUSD’s dedication to STEM/STEAM education extends throughout the school year, with teachers incorporating these disciplines into daily lessons and activities. We recognize that the skills developed through STEM/STEAM are essential in today’s rapidly changing world, where creativity and innovation are as critical as problem-solving and collaboration.
National STEM/STEAM Day: Inspiring the Next Generation
On November 8, 2024, MPUSD will celebrate National STEM/STEAM Day, a day dedicated to sparking students' curiosity and encouraging them to explore the boundless possibilities of STEM/STEAM education. From coding and robotics to art and design, our students are the creators, innovators, and leaders of tomorrow. This day serves as a reminder of the importance of STEM/STEAM in shaping the future and helping students discover their potential.
Join us in celebrating National STEM/STEAM Day by encouraging your students or children to dive into the world of STEM/STEAM. Let’s work together to inspire the next generation of thinkers, dreamers, and problem-solvers.
Discover. Create. Innovate.
At MPUSD, STEM/STEAM education is more than just a subject—it’s a pathway to success. Whether through our classrooms, Saturday Academy, or community events like Family STEM Day, we are dedicated to helping every student discover their potential and build a brighter future through STEM/STEAM learning.
Community Partnerships: Family STEM Day at Monterey Peninsula College
We are proud to partner with organizations like Monterey Peninsula College, which is hosting a Family STEM Day on November 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event is designed to engage families in STEM/STEAM activities and help students see the real-world applications of what they learn in the classroom. It’s an exciting opportunity for students and families to explore STEM/STEAM together, deepening their understanding and interest in these critical fields.
Saturday Academy: Engaging Students in STEM/STEAM
In addition to regular classroom instruction, MPUSD offers designated STEM/STEAM-focused days as part of its Saturday Academy. These sessions provide students with extra opportunities to explore STEM/STEAM fields in greater depth, participate in hands-on learning, and experience the excitement of discovery outside of the traditional classroom setting.
