Monterey Peninsula Unified School District Kicks Off School Year

Back-to-School Bash, Annual Employee Kick-Off, First Day of School

Seaside, CA - The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District welcomed school site leaders, district administrators, and a handful of other staff back this week to begin planning for the 2024-2025 school year. MPUSD’s first day of school is Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Leaders and staff participated in multiple days of professional learning activities and strategic planning, and the learning continues into next week as new teachers are on-boarded and returning teachers are welcomed back.

With your continued support, MPUSD has emerged as a leader in innovation and creativity. We are not only engaging students in profound learning experiences and preparing them to tackle future challenges, but we are also continuing the MPUSD Way and setting high standards for supporting students, their families, and our dedicated teachers and staff,” said PK Diffenbaugh, Superintendent, Monterey Peninsula Unified School District, in his welcome letter to families. "It is an honor to serve as your superintendent. Each day, I am inspired and humbled by our students, families, and staff. As we embark on our 11th year together, I look forward to our continued partnership," he continued.
