School Year Theme

Each school year, we work with our district staff and educators to develop a collective theme. Thank you to the teachers and staff for your votes, submissions, and feedback for this year’s theme: “Incite Excellence. Inspire Change.” This theme received the most first and second-choice votes.

The focus of this theme lies in the future tense, whereas our previous two themes reflected a "we are/We do" mentality, which is incredibly important. This theme serves more as a challenge and rallying cry, embodying a "we must/we will" statement. "We must" because for a majority of our students, excellence will be required to meet stretch growth year over year and close the gap towards standards, which increase in rigor and complexity each year. In order for meaningful change to occur, we must seek to "Incite Excellence" with every decision we make and with every opportunity we are given.
