Expanded Learning Opportunities (ELO) Afterschool Programs
Welcome to the Expanded Learning Opportunities Department!
VISION
Ensure that every child achieves academic and social excellence to be career, college, and life ready.
MISSION
Empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become highly effective, culturally diverse citizens, through the daily use of dynamic hands-on academic and social enrichment activities.
The Expanded Learning Opportunities Department (ELO) offers programs to all Transitional KIndergarten (TK) through grade 8 campuses, providing safe and engaging experiences. It is our honor to serve the students in the Monterey Peninsula Unified School each day that school is in session. The programs at all of our campuses start immediately following the dismissal bell, through 6:00 pm, for a total of nine hours per day. Throughout the year, an additional 30 non-school days of programming will be offered for expanded learning.
All of the programs offer the following components.
- Academic support
- Nutritional snack
- Physical activity
- Enrichment activities
There are no fees for students who are experiencing homelessness, are foster youth, receive free or reduced price meals (FRPM) or are English Learners. Financial support options are available for families who are experiencing financial hardships. Please contact our ELO office for more information.
Some of our after school programs charge a fee for service to children who do not receive FRPM, are not foster or homeless, and are not English Learners. School district employees receive a discount for the afterschool programs.
