Suicide Prevention Month
On Tuesday, September 28, the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District Board of Education approved a resolution to recognize September 2021 as Suicide Prevention Month.
Fast facts according to the Centers for Disease Control
-Suicide rates increased 33% between 1999-2019 (CDC)
-The second leading cause of death among people aged 10-34
-One person dies by suicide every 11 minutes
