Military Resources for Students
Military Interstate Children's Compact
Military Interstate Children’s Compact Commission (MIC3)
Monterey Peninsula Unified School District (MPUSD) supports the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children (ICEOMC) and remains committed to serving military-connected students, including those receiving special education (SPED) services and those navigating high school transitions such as credits, transcripts, and graduation requirements.
MPUSD proudly honors the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children, and our teachers and staff understand the provisions within the compact. Frequent moves can create challenges in meeting high school graduation requirements due to differences between states. Our educators are experienced in applying the flexibility provided by the compact to help students transition smoothly, stay on track academically, and graduate prepared for college or career.
Additionally, MIC3 supports the timely transfer and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), helping ensure continuity of services for students with special education needs as they move between school systems.
Special Education
Transitions can be especially challenging for students with exceptional needs, and it is helpful to have communication and a child's Individualized Education Plan (IEP) before your child arrives so the district can plan a smooth transition to meet your child's needs.
